Discovering nature is a pleasure in Osona

The Parc Natural del Montseny, the Parc del Castell de Montesquiu and the Espai Natural de les Guilleries-Savassona. All of them are a good example of the concentrated beauty of the landscape in this area. Activities such as trekking, adventure sports or journeys by aircraft or hot air balloon allow it to be discovered and savoured at any season. The Plana de Vic and the Plana del Ter, surrounded by mountains, are the main scenery from where to start walking by a path that will probably bring us unforgettable experiences.

Urban areas and little discoveries
The capital of Osona is Vic, a city with a huge historic centre. Other important conurbations are Manlleu and Torelló. And if you want to let yourself be seduced by the charms of the villages integrated in the landscape, you can visit Alpens, Rupit, Sant Julià de Vilatorta, Vidrà or Viladrau. The popular weekend markets are really attractive, especially that in Vic.

To recover the strength

You can taste the llonganissa of Vic -the King sausage- together with botifarres, bisbes, sumaies, fuets and baionas. Not to mention handmade cheese and artisanal beer. The truffle deserves a separate chapter, as it comes directly from the heart of its woods.

Romanesque routes
The region of Osona is one of the richest in Catalonia as regards expressions of Romanesque art. There are ten traced routes you can find in the book “Rutas del Románico de la comarca de Osona”. It is also recommended to visit the Museu Episcopal de Vic, where you can find one of the most important Romanesque collections in the world.
