Excursion to Vallvidrera in Funicular

Vallvidrera is a suburb of Barcelona integrated into the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. At the end of the 19th century it became a summer resort for the people of Barcelona and numerous modernist-style houses were built.

Going up to Vallvidriera by public transport is easy and fun since we will do it by means of the Vallvidriera Funicular which we access from the Peu del Funicular station, accessible by lines S1 and S2 of the Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat leaving from Plaza Catalunya.

When we get off at the station we will contemplate impressive views of Barcelona. We can take a walk through the town and visit the Pantano, the Collserola communications tower, the Tibidabo Amusement Park or go hiking through the Siera de Collserola, with more than 8,000 hectares of protected natural space, to discover and learn, a meeting and leisure space just a few minutes from the urban chaos.

If you like to walk, there are different routes to return on foot from Vallvidriera to Barcelona, such as the Aigües road, it is a signposted route and without difficulty since it is downhill and takes 40 minutes.
