Poble Espanyol

Montjuïc

It had to be demolished at the end of the 1929 International Exhibition for which it was conceived, but after its success, it was preserved and today it is one of the most visited places in Barcelona. The secret: the genius of its creators. Four intellectuals from the beginning of the 20th century, guided by the original idea of the modernist architect Puig i Cadafalch, visited 1,600 towns on the peninsula in order to reproduce 117 typical buildings and corners from all over Spain on a real scale.
