Cervantes Park

It is located at the entrance to Barcelona on Avenida Diagonal and corresponds to the Pedralbes neighborhood.

It was inaugurated in 1965 and occupies an area of 8.5 hectares, its gentle slopes allow you to see different views of Barcelona and although the park offers spectacular trees, large spaces of grass and vegetation, the protagonist is the rose. For example, if we enter through Avenida de Diagonal we are welcomed by the “Garden of perfumes”, here we will only find scented roses belonging to 235 different varieties.

The Rose Garden of Cervantes
Created by Lluís Ruidor in 1964, it occupies an area of 4 hectares where the queen is the rose, it has 10,000 rosebushes and 235 different varieties. We can walk through the pergola that shows us the way, embraced by beautiful rose bushes that climb between the arches of acacia sticks and sit under its shade to contemplate the city.
Most of the year we can see roses but if your visit is in spring and especially in the month of May, you will be able to contemplate up to 150,000 roses and soak up their perfume. In the Rosaleda every year the International Contest of New Roses is celebrated.

In the park we can contemplate several sculptures, among which “The Twin Rhombuses” by Andreu Alfaro stand out, a spectacular aluminum sculpture and “Serenity”, a female nude by the sculptor Eulália Fábregas de Sentmenat.

The Park has a picnic area, children’s games, ping-pong tables and is ideal for jogging and walking.
