It is one of the few residential palaces that are preserved in the Eixample, it is currently the headquarters of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in Catalonia, so it cannot be visited, but we can see ceramic elements on its façade that indicate the beginning of modernism .
The project fell to the architect Josep Domenech i Estapa in 1889, but differences with the property led to his resignation, and Antonio M. Gallisà took charge of completing the project, with the collaboration of Domènech i Montaner.
Opposite the Montaner Palace is the headquarters of the Catalan Bar Association, the former Pompeian-style Casades Palace.
