We explain the documents you need to enter Barcelona depending on the nationality of the visitor.
National identity document or valid passport for citizens from any State of the European Union (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy , Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Romania and Sweden), Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The United Kingdom and Ireland do not belong to the Schengen area and require a passport.

Macedonia), Australia Bahamas Barbados Bosnia Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, United Arab Emirates, United States Georgia, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Kiribati, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Nauru, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Solomon (Islands), Samoa, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Holy See, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, East Timor, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Ukraine, Uruguay, Vanuatu and Venezuela*.
They are joined by citizens of the Special Administrative Regions of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macao, provided they are holders of special passports for this purpose, and of Taiwan. Finally, this group also includes British citizens who do not have the status of nationals of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland under Union law (British overseas citizens, British subjects or persons under British protection).
