Els Encants<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

This is one of the oldest markets in Europe; its origins date back to the 14th century. It is located in a space measuring 15,000 square metres and has approximately 500 vendors. There you can find clothing, furniture, fabric, antiques\u2026 in short, a long list of goods just waiting for their buyer. Saturday tends to be the best day, and we recommend that you get there early. \n<\/p>\n\n

Sunday market at Sant Antoni<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

This Sunday flea market specialises in cultural items like books, comics, films, stamps and postcards. Only goods on paper or magnets can be sold, although videogames are also allowed. Its habitu\u00e9s include Catalan personalities like Quim Monz\u00f3, Joan Manuel Serrat and Pasqual Maragall. It is a unique market in the city. \n<\/p>\n\n

Gothic Market<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

This market emerged in 1978 with the goal of bringing antiques and collectibles to the public at large. It is held every Thursday (except during the month of August) and has a total of 28 stalls, many of them specialising in watches, fountain pens, books and shares. It places a premium on cultural goods and advocates their recovery. \n<\/p>\n\n

Artisan food market in Pla\u00e7a del Pi \n<\/h2>\n\n

This market has been held the first and third Friday, Saturday and Sunday of every month for the past 15 years. There you can find all kinds of artisanal foods: cheese, honey, sausage, pat\u00e9, mat\u00f3 (a mild Catalan cheese which is served with honey), biscuits, wine and more. Pla\u00e7a del Pi deserves mention of its own because of its architecture and because it is the home to the basilica of Santa Mar\u00eda del Pi. \n<\/p>\n\n

In Barcelona, every Sunday and holiday morning, a coin and paper collectibles market is held in Pla\u00e7a Reial.
